Our Little Blue Box represents all your good intentions and positive actions. It has the potential to strengthen family bonds and preserve and perpetuate your family values from generation to generation. Family is broadly defined to include your immediate, extended or chosen family and friends.
What is Our Little Blue Box?
It is a tool to empower each family member, no matter how young or old, to express their individual interests and opinions. All family members participate as equals – everyone has a voice. This process not only encourages, but requires an open, honest and respectful way of communicating.
Much has been written about listening. Active listening skills are not commonly taught. Learning how to listen, including taking turns and not talking over each other, results in becoming a better listener. Being “listened to” and being heard, are keys to improving family relationships. Once family members understand the steps to listening, the family can become a more effective with stronger bonds.
Our Values
We trust, respect and love all individuals in our family. We listen openly and honestly to each member. Our elders and children have a voice and add to our identity and what we stand for as a family. Everyone contributes to our familial fabric by their presence and participation. We value education and tolerance. We instill a healthy and positive relationship with our wealth and understand that it is our responsibility to take action and make a difference in our community by giving of our resources. We teach our children how to share, spend and save as well as how to earn and give. We know that we are here to be good stewards of the fruits of our hard work and organize ourselves to perpetuate our legacy.
